Candidate Endorsements for 2020 Primary
The Libertarian Party of Santa Clara County has endorsed four candidates for federal and state office in the March 2020 primary election. The endorsements were made by the county Central Committee at its regular meeting on Saturday, 23 November 2019.

Regarding the membership suspension of Robert and Jennifer Imhoff
Adopted by the County Central Committee, November 23, 2019
Whereas the Libertarian Party of California (LPC) Executive Committee conducted a secret trial to suspend the memberships of Robert and Jennifer Imhoff on August 10, 2019; and
Whereas the historical procedure has generally been to conduct membership suspensions in open session; and
Whereas the LPC has failed to either state the specific reason for the suspension or provide any evidence in support of their decision; and
Whereas those suspensions have disrupted the operations of the Libertarian Party of Santa Clara County by removing both the county Chair and the county Treasurer, thereby severely restricting access to the bank accounts and other assets of the county party; and
Seeking Candidates for Partisan State and Federal Offices and Other Nonpartisan Local Offices
Most of the partisan elections for 2020 may seem a ways off. However, all of the candidate recruitment and preparation for the Primary Election next March is coming up this fall. See the Secretary of State's website for filing periods and deadlines.
We need candidates to run as Libertarians for Congress and for the State Legislature.
SF Tax Day Protest
Members of the Libertarian Party held at least 26 Tax Day protests across the country throughout the weekend leading up to April 15. Each protest was inspired by the Libertarian idea that all people have the right to keep their own wealth and possessions. “All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor,” the Libertarian Party platform states. “We call for the repeal of the income tax and the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution.”
LPC 2019 Convention Highlights
The Libertarian Party of California held its 2019 convention in Concord earlier this month (April 5-7). Delegates came from all over the state to exchange views, vote for new officers, and make changes to the party bylaws and platform.
The newly-elected state officers are:

Volunteerism is a ubiquitous part of liberty. Volunteers are motivated by values like those of justice, equality, and freedom. Not only do volunteers favor community-based organizations, but volunteerism allows funding to gravitate towards causes that will have the most impact. This is why Libertarians promote volunteerism. Many government-run plans to assist the homeless are mere subsidies that enable continued homelessness by creating incentives for staying in poverty. Nonprofits, on the other hand, focus on helping the homeless by offering types of assistance that encourage them towards health and safety, so they can focus on progressing their lives away from their current situation.
