Party adopts resolution marking anniversary of Russo-Ukrainian war escalation
SUNNYVALE, Calif.— In anticipation of the first anniversary of Russia’s escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian war, Santa Clara County resident Ed Wimmers initiated adoption by the Libertarian Party of California of this anti-intervention resolution:
We support the withdrawal of the U.S. from NATO. We oppose taxpayer funds being spent on the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Santa Clara County party voter guide for Nov. 8 promotes term limits, disapproves big spending
SUNNYVALE, Calif.— The Libertarian Party of Santa Clara County’s (LPSCC) Nov. 8, 2022 general election voter guide (below) reflects the party’s frustration with the high levels of spending and borrowing being proposed by local public servants, who, along with government contractors, seem to have an insatiable appetite for the pocketbooks of those whose interests they should instead be protecting.

Elected Libertarian Brian Holtz, a Purissima Hills Water District director, was interviewed about housing costs for an Opportunity Now Silicon Valley series of articles focused on the Libertarian perspective on public policy issues.
Holtz said that to alleviate the housing crisis, he would eliminate land-use restrictions — the most measurable factor in rising housing costs — because of how they limit supply.
“Even the subtle ordinances like parking and lot minimums eat up demand for land, decrease density, and make mass transit less economically feasible,” he said, pointing out that despite high demand, sellers are restricted in many ways from building up and expanding, which “impacts just about everybody.”

‘Daily Post’ covers LPSCC’s arguments against ballot measures

In preparation for the Nov. 8, 2022 election, the Libertarian Party of Santa Clara County filed arguments against Palo Alto’s Measure K, which would instigate a business tax, and Measure L, which would divert natural-gas ratepayers’ funds to other city programs.
On Aug. 26, the Palo Alto Daily Post newspaper published an article about the filing of the two measures’ proponents’ and opponents’ arguments. The article cited strong points made by LPSCC Treasurer Alan Kaiser, a Palo Alto resident, and Chair Joe Dehn, and revealed that local businesses had chosen not to spend time lodging an argument against the tax measure, which the councilmembers had watered down since initially proposing it.

Santa Clara County party issues voter guide for June 7
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Joe Dehn, the Libertarian candidate for U.S. Congress, Dist. 17, said Monday that the Big Government approach to gun violence proposed by his opponent, incumbent Ro Khanna, is not the answer. Dehn said none of the proposals that Rep. Khanna supports would be effective, or a good use of tax money.
