LP SCC Opposes School Tax Measures

The Libertarian Party of Santa Clara County has declared its opposition to two ballot measures that will impose tax burdens on local citizens.

One, proposed by the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District, would extend an existing parcel tax, which was scheduled to expire, by another seven years. The other, proposed by the Fremont Union High School District, would authorize issuance of $275 million in bonds, to be paid for through future taxes.

Both measures are to appear on the June primary ballot. The Registrar of Voters has not yet assigned letters for the measures that will be on the ballot in that election.
